Conclusion

Risk stratification with nuclear testing is likely to find applicability in an increasing number of subsets of patients with CAD. This discussion focuses on data derived predominantly from patients with varying like-lihoods of CAD. In virtually all groups of patients with CAD there are subsets who have intermediate risk for subsequent cardiac events who can be risk-stratified effectively with nuclear techniques, including patients with medically stabilized unstable angina, those who have had MI, those who have undergone revascularization, those preparing for operation, and those with heart failure.
